    Frequently Asked Questions

I hope some of the below information is useful.  Anything not covered please contact me via phone, email, whats app and I will aim to get back to you as soon as possible!

Whereabouts are you located?

I work from home in Benfleet, Essex, SS7 5ND

Do you offer mobile Teeth Cleaning?

Yes, in certain circumstances when people are unable to attend due to health or transport issues this can be arranged

What is the duration of the appointment?

Allow 1 hour for your Dog's initial appointment.  Any follow up sessions are 30 minutes in length

Do I stay during my Dog's appointment?

No, this is a drop off appointment

Do I need to do anything to prepare for my appointment?

Prior to your Dog's initial appointment I ask for photos of your Dog's teeth so that I can ensure they are suitable for Emmi-pet tooth brushing.  Anything more than mild/moderate tartar will require a Vet visit.

What is the cost of an appointment?

The initial hour session is £40, follow up sessions are £20. Puppy Intro sessions are £25.

Do you take more than one dog at a time?

Dogs from the same household are welcome to attend together if this helps settle them more/they are not used to being separated.

Are there any other Dogs present during the appointment?

I have dogs inside my house.  I work in a segregated part of the garden and when your Dog(s) attend they are the only ones in this area.  They do not mix with other dogs.

When should my Dog start with Emmi-Pet?

As soon as possible.  It is better for Tooth Brushing to be preventative rather than remedial. The sooner a Dog becomes familiar with having his/her teeth cleaned the better.  A Puppy can come from 3-6 months and should incorporate Teeth Cleaning as routinely as grooming.

If we attend for Teeth Cleaning does my Dog still require their teeth to be checked when at the Vets?

Absolutely. Emmi-Pet tooth brushing does not replace a Vet Check.  They should work alongside each other and a Vet check carried out as normal.

If my Dog requires a Vet can we use Emmi-Pet after?

It would be ideal to use Emmi-Pet to maintain clean and healthy teeth after a Vet clean has been carried out

Does Emmi-pet require anaesthetic?

Absolutely not.  Emmi-Pet consists of a toothbrush and specialised paste mixed with water.  It is motionless, silent, has no vibration and is simply placed on the tooth.

Is there any aftercare I need to know about?

Your Dog can carry on eating, playing, everything as normal.  They may be tired, similar to that following a groom but there are no specific after care requirements.
